Public buildings continue to be demolished in Stepanakert


The Azerbaijani administration demolished another 2.5 hectares of residential buildings in Stepanakert, adjacent to the previously demolished 6 historical districts of the city. Thus, in October-November, around 8.5 ha of residential area was destroyed in the center of the capital of the Republic of Artsakh. Sergey Shahverdyan, secretary of the State Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in the Occupied Territories of Artsakh, reports this.

He reminds that previously 3.5 ha of buildings adjacent to the university and 0.5 ha of residential buildings adjacent to "Europa" hotel were razed to the ground. The first cases of demolishing public buildings were registered in the spring, then the Azerbaijani administration demolished the Armenian Parliament building, the Veterans Union building and the Armenia Hotel located on Revival Square.
