Roskomnadzor does not plan to restrict access to Twitch in Russia

Access to the Twitch streaming service in Russia is currently not limited, Roskomnadzor told RIA Novosti.

“Currently, access to the Twitch streaming service is not limited,” the department said.

As noted, Twitch Interactive, Inc. repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for failure to remove prohibited information. The court imposed fines totaling 40 million rubles.

In addition, the company is currently subject to a coercive measure in the form of search engines informing their users about violations of Russian legislation by a foreign person.
Twitch is a video streaming service specializing in computer games, owned by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon.

The service is included in the register of social networks of Roskomnadzor, which includes resources whose attendance reaches 500 thousand Russian users per day. Now it has 15 platforms: VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Telegram, LiveJournal, Pikabu, Zen, RuTube, YouTube, Likee, Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, Twitch, Discord and Yappy. Internet platforms included in the register are required to independently quickly identify and block information prohibited in the Russian Federation.
