The US demands an end to hostilities in Gaza

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced the need for effective and long-term pauses in hostilities in the Gaza Strip and even a cessation of hostilities in order to provide humanitarian aid to the population, Western media reported on Wednesday.

According to the Secretary of State, Washington hopes that "the conflicting parties will be able to reach a long-term ceasefire in most of the Gaza Strip so that humanitarian aid can be delivered to those who need it."

Earlier, Blinken, together with US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin, submitted an ultimatum to the Israeli authorities, demanding to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza by November 12.

The Israeli authorities have increased the supply of humanitarian aid to the population of the Gaza Strip, but a number of international aid organizations believe that Israel has not fulfilled the conditions of the United States, according to the United States Department of State.

In addition, a number of experts remind that some regions of Gaza are threatened with famine in the near future.
