Lavrov will head the Russian delegation to the G20 summit in Brazil

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will head the Russian delegation at the G20 summit to be held in Brazil on November 18-19. within the framework of the event, he has planned a number of meetings. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, announced this at the briefing.

"On November 18-19, the next summit of the G20 will take place in Rio de Janeiro. According to the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, the delegation of our country to this event will be headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov," Zakharova was quoted as saying by "RIA Novosti" agency.

He noted that Lavrov will make a speech at the plenary session and will hold a number of bilateral meetings.

"The speeches of the Russian Foreign Minister are scheduled on November 18 during the plenary sessions on the topics of the fight against inequality, hunger and poverty, as well as the reform of global institutions. Within the framework of the summit, a number of bilateral negotiations and contacts of the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, have been scheduled," he added. Zakharova noted that the meeting of the leaders will be opened with the launch of the global alliance against hunger and poverty.

"This is the main initiative of the president of Brazil. this temporary coordination mechanism is meant to find a way out of the problematic issues of international cooperation in the field of food security. Russia intends to announce joining the alliance at the summit," he added.
