The events in Armenia are the internal affair of the country, but the attacks on the church are a reason for serious concern, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated.
"It is obvious that this is an internal matter of our neighbors, but of course, the attacks on the Armenian Apostolic Church are a matter of serious concern.
The church has always been one of the main pillars of the Armenian society, and we really didn't want this church to be attacked without any serious basis, "Lavrov told reporters after the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers.
"We are interested in resolving this situation as soon as possible, based on Armenia's Constitution, the rights of believers, as well as to the full respect of other human rights," he said.
