The situation in the Middle East will soon stabilize, despite the ongoing tensions in the region, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Kommersant reported.
"Of course, the region is currently going through a very difficult period in its development. I am confident that, despite all the difficulties today, the situation will recover," Putin said.
The Russian president noted that the United Arab Emirates has become one of the closest countries in the Middle East for Russia.
Putin's meeting with the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince took place on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi, which is taking place on September 12-13.
The latest round of escalation in the Middle East occurred in early July, following the collapse of a peace deal between Iran and the United States. Since then, the sides have been striking each other, including against ships in the region.
