At the Tbilisi airport, the Georgian police arrested a citizen of the USA and Uzbekistan, who was wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for supporting the activities of terrorist organizations, reports "Novosti-Georgia".
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, the American law enforcement agencies accuse the arrested person of creating a network for the financial support of a foreign terrorist organization in the United States.
According to the American authorities, the leader and participants of this group provided logistical and financial assistance to terrorist organizations in Syria, including the "Islamic State". In addition, the arrested person was allegedly calling people to go to Syria to participate in combat operations and offering them help.
The extradition procedures provided for by the legislation have been started against the arrested person.
