The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has announced an international search for three Russian citizens: Ivan Knyazev, host of the "Moscow 24" TV channel, Semyon Uralov, a political advisor, media expert, and Alexei Chadaev, a journalist and adviser to the Russian Minister of Transport.
Criminal cases were initiated against them on the charges of "terrorism, public calls to forcefully change the state order and violate the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan", as well as "inciting national hatred and enmity".
As the press service of the country's general prosecutor's office told APA agency, the grounds for criminal prosecution were found during the preliminary investigation. According to the version of the investigation, on July 14, 2026, Knyazev, Uralov, and Chadaev called for "violent methods to be used against Azerbaijan, to change its constitutional order and to violate the country's territorial integrity" during the program "Чистота английский" published on Semyon Uralov's YouTube channel.
The investigation also revealed that on August 13, on the air of the same channel, the defendants, as the prosecutor's office claims, expressed "in favor of using violent methods against Azerbaijan and the threat of physical destruction of individual persons, including their targeted elimination." The prosecutor's office described these statements as "public calls for terrorism".
Knyazev, Uralov and Chadaev were included as accused. Since they are outside the territory of Azerbaijan, they are wanted. The court chose detention as a preventive measure.
The General Prosecutor's Office has sent applications to competent authorities of partner states to find out the whereabouts of the accused, arrest them and hand them over to Azerbaijan. In addition, measures have been taken to organize their international search by Interpol.
