The head of the Lebanese hotel owners' union said that the Israeli planes destroyed the Palmyra hotel in Lebanon. This hotel is one of the most important historical monuments of Lebanon. It was built in 1874 and famous guests included Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Charles de Gaulle, Ivan Bonin and Pablo Picasso.
The hotel was located in the city of Baalbek, next to Mencia Street, named after the historical building of the same name built in 1927. This architectural monument is also almost completely destroyed.
