Great Britain is preparing for a new heat wave. the temperature will reach 36°C

A new rise in temperature is expected in Great Britain next week, with temperatures reaching 36°C in some areas.

According to the forecasts of the country's Meteorological Service (Met Office), warm weather conditions will cover most of England and Wales, Express reported.

The highest temperature is expected on August 13. Temperatures of up to 36°C are predicted in East Anglia and the south-eastern part of the country, and in 27 counties the thermometer will exceed 30°C.

According to Mike Silverstone, Deputy Chief Meteorologist of the Met Office, the warming of the weather will begin already at the weekend, and the most significant increase will be observed in the middle of next week. After a brief cooling period on Monday, a high pressure area will move to the east of the UK, bringing a southerly air current.

"There will likely be a fairly wide heat wave over most of England and Wales," Silverstone said.

According to him, in most areas of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, the maximum temperature will be recorded on Wednesday, August 12. In the central and southern regions of England, as well as in the south-east of Wales, the air can warm up to 34°C.

High temperatures in East Anglia and the south-east will intensify on Thursday 13 August, reaching up to 36°C. At the same time, humidity will increase during the week, due to which the night hours can become especially uncomfortable.

According to the Met Office's long-term forecast for August 12-21, rains, heavy rainfall and quite strong winds are expected in the northern parts of the country at the beginning of that period. Meanwhile, in the south, the weather will be extremely dry, sunny and hot, very hot in some places. Some cooling of the weather is possible in the southern regions during the next weekend.

Temperatures exceeding 30°C are expected in 27 counties of England.
