Russia is ready to continue concession management of Armenian railways. Overchuk

Russia is ready to continue the concession management of Armenian railways and resolve issues through consultations and calm dialogue. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk.

His statement followed RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's assessment last week that the management of Armenian railways by the Armenian subsidiary of "Russian Railways" (RZD) may go as far as arbitration.

"We are in favor of resolving all issues through consultations and dialogue in a calm atmosphere. We are ready to continue working and continue the concession in Armenia," said Overchuk.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation also noted that, in his opinion, "Russian Railways" is currently the only professional company capable of effectively managing the Armenian railway and ensuring its development.

Let's remind that in 2008, Armenia handed over the railway infrastructure under concession management to the subsidiary company of "Russian Railways", "South Caucasian Railway". In February of this year, Nikol Pashinyan did not rule out that another state with friendly relations with Armenia could acquire the right to concession management of the country's railways.
