Iran and Oman have agreed to resume navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Al Arabiya

Iran and Oman signed a framework agreement on the restoration of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, but the document still needs to be approved by Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Al Arabiya TV channel reports, citing a high-ranking source.

According to the source, the official announcement will probably be made in the coming days.

The agreement is for 60 days. Its purpose is to restore maritime communication and create conditions for starting technical negotiations.

According to the draft agreement, ships entering the Strait of Hormuz will move through the corridor closer to Iran's shores, and those leaving through the route closer to Oman. According to forecasts, the countries of the region can participate in demining the water area.

The source also informed that the indirect negotiations between the USA and Iran through mediators are continuing and have entered the final stage.

In addition, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, according to reports, recently had two phone conversations with Pakistan Army Commander-in-Chief Asim Munir and may visit Islamabad in the coming days.

According to the source, the Pakistani side intends to inform the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, about the progress of negotiations between Washington and Tehran. The upcoming visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Asim Munir to Saudi Arabia is scheduled for August 6-8.
