Ukraine plans to develop its own ballistic and missile defense system in 2026-2027. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Kyiv, Vladimir Zelensky, after a consultation on the development of ballistics and the progress of the FREYJA anti-ballistic missile program.
He wrote in his Telegram channel that few countries managed to develop their own ballistic and missile defense systems. On the night of August 5, the Russian army launched a massive attack on military and logistical facilities serving the armed forces of Ukraine in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
This attack was one of the biggest in recent times, and after its end, Ukrainian planes confirmed that they were not able to shoot down a single missile.
