Mexican TikTok influencer Cesar Gastelum was killed live outside a fast food restaurant in Culiacan, Sinaloa. The local authorities informed about the incident.
Gastelum, who has about 600,000 followers, was known for his humorous videos. He was broadcasting live with his friends when two helmeted persons arrived on a motorcycle. According to the video published by Reuters, the motorcycle driver opened fire directly at the influencer.
The security service of the Sinaloa state confirmed the death of Gastelum, noting that a large-scale operation is being carried out in connection with the incident.
The incident took place against the background of ongoing violence in Kuliakan. The city has recently become one of the main hotbeds of the struggle for influence between organized criminal groups.
The murder also brought to mind another scandalous incident in May 2025, when beauty influencer Valeria Marquez was killed during a live TikTok broadcast. The case of her murder was investigated under the article of femicide, the killing of women for gender reasons.
