Tehran is ready for negotiations, but does not trust the USA. Ambassador of Iran to China

Iran is ready for negotiations, but does not trust the United States because of Washington's violation of previous commitments. Iranian Ambassador to China Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli stated this during a press conference held in Beijing, reports the Iranian news agency.More:agency.

According to him, Tehran initially declared that it was acting solely for self-defense and was responding to US strikes.

"As soon as the USA stops its aggression, we will also stop retaliatory actions," the diplomat emphasized.

Rahmani Fazli noted that the countries of the Persian Gulf, as well as China, Russia, Pakistan and a number of European states are making efforts to stop the war, taking into account its consequences on economic and regional security.

At the same time, the ambassador expressed his belief that China is capable of playing an important role in the settlement of the conflict. According to his description, Beijing consistently advocates negotiations, reducing tensions, strengthening collective security and developing regional cooperation.

"China has taken many valuable steps to support peace both in the UN Security Council and at the regional level, and we highly appreciate these efforts," he said.

Referring to the topic of prospects for negotiations, the Iranian diplomat emphasized that Tehran is ready for dialogue as before. However, according to him, after the USA violated the memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad and refused to fulfill its obligations, Iran lost confidence in the American side.
