Venezuela has rejected the extension of sanctions by the United States

Venezuela rejected the extension of US sanctions based on the executive order of March 8, 2015, and called for a mutually beneficial relationship with the United States.

This is stated in the message of the government published on the Telegram channel of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic, Ivan Gil Pinto.

"The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the extension of the so-called 'state of emergency' against our country by the United States government until February 18, 2026, in accordance with Executive Order 13692 signed by former US President Barack Hussein Obama on March 8, 2015," the message reads.

It emphasizes that 11 years after the executive order went into effect, the reality confirms that the description of Venezuela as an "extraordinary threat" to the people and government of the United States is completely wrong.
