According to the voting results of the final plenary session of the 16th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP16) held in Cali, Colombia, a decision was made to hold the annual conference (COP17) to be held in the Republic of Armenia in 2026 by the majority of votes of the participating countries.
In this connection, the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan had telephone conversations with the Minister of the Environment of the Republic of Armenia Hakob Simidyan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.
The President congratulated and thanked the ministers for the combined and effective work of the teams of the two ministries in making the decision to hold the high-level international conference in Armenia.
President Vahagn Khachaturyan also wished the committed agencies success in organizing and holding the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in 2026 at a high level.
