Zelensky signed the law extending the martial law in Ukraine until May 4

Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws extending martial law and military conscription in Ukraine for 90 days, starting February 3 and ending May 4, according to data posted on the Verkhovna Rada's website. The Verkhovna Rada passed the laws on January 14, extending martial law and conscription for the 18th time.

Martial law and general mobilization were declared in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, which have been extended several times since then.

Due to their constant extension, parliamentary, presidential and local self-government elections are not held in the country, and Zelensky, whose presidential term expired on May 20, 2024, is taking advantage of this.
