Armenia and Luxembourg are expanding economic and trade ties

By establishing a strategic partnership, the Republic of Armenia and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg reaffirmed their determination to deepen relations in the fields of politics, economy, defense, security, justice, culture, education, environment, as well as to explore the possibilities of their expansion in new fields.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that Armenia and Luxembourg reaffirm the fundamental values ​​underlying their partnership, including the commitment to strengthening democracy and the rule of law, the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as the promotion of multilateralism and the international order based on rules.

The two countries reaffirm RA's aspiration to strengthen its political, economic, security, cultural and social ties with the European Union and the wider community of democratic states.

Emphasizing the importance of deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, Armenia and Luxembourg will promote the establishment of regular bilateral thematic consultations, focusing on supporting Armenia's approximation to EU standards, promoting the full and effective implementation of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement ("CEPA") and the RA-EU strategic partnership agenda, enhancing sovereignty and resilience, strengthening democratic institutions, and protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Armenia and Luxembourg reaffirm their commitment to develop and expand economic and trade relations whenever possible, giving priority to areas of mutual interest. Recognizing the multifaceted challenges facing Armenia as a landlocked country with limited access to global trade markets, the parties will expand cooperation to promote regional and international trade and transport connectivity, including by supporting each other's projects, such as Armenia's Crossroads for Peace initiative.

Earlier, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Xavier Bethel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The interlocutors reaffirmed the high level of political dialogue between Armenia and Luxembourg, stressing that it develops on the basis of mutual trust, common values ​​and interests. It was emphasized on both sides that relations between Armenia and Luxembourg are strategic in their content, which is reflected in the implemented joint programs, as well as in Luxembourg's support for the development of Armenia's democracy and confrontation.
