Scientists predict that the activity of solar flares will completely stabilize on October 20. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The report states that space weather will be characterized by a calm geomagnetic environment with a low probability of weak residual disturbances.
"Eruption activity is approaching full stabilization," the IKI added.
The previous day, October 19, saw the penultimate M-class solar flare.
The classification of such events is based on the level of X-ray radiation and includes five main categories: A, B, C, M and X. The intensity increases tenfold as one lesson progresses to the next. Strong flares are often accompanied by outflows of solar plasma that can cause magnetic storms when they reach Earth.
