The scientist called the most dangerous drink for the liver

The use of sweet carbonated beverages contributes to fat accumulation in liver cells, but alcohol has a more direct toxic effect, increasing the risk of cirrhosis and other serious diseases. Anton Belcin, a junior researcher at the Chair of Chemistry and Biotechnology of the Pyper Polytechnic University (PPPA), told "Gazeteta.ru".

The expert noted that online sensational comparisons are spread, including the thread of sugar carbonated alcohol in terms of harmfulness. The "dietary" version is even positioned as the most harmful.

According to the specialist, the main danger of an ordinary cola is caused in case of regular abuse.

"The main enemy is a huge amount of sugar. The surplus of the sugar in the diet directly increases the risk of insulin resistance. This is the situation in which body cells cease to respond to insulin, hormone, which helps glucose (sugar) to penetrate tissues, "the scientist explained.

The specialist warned that sugar substitutes contained in dietary carbonated drinks are not safe. In case of regular use, they contribute to the accumulation of fat in the liver cells. A number of studies on animals have shown that artificial sweeteners can disrupt the composition of the intestinal microflora, stimulating the propagation of opportunistic bacteria.

"Such a microbomom's imbalance is considered a risk factor of heart disease and endocrine disorders. However, when comparing Cola and alcohol, the claim that carbonated drinks are more harmful than alcoholic beverages is a myth, "said Belykin.

The scientist notes that alcohol is just a hepatotoxic, a substance that harms the liver cells (lizards). In case of regular impact, it directly generates cirrhosis and other serious diseases of the liver. On the other hand, Cola does not directly contain substances with poisonous influence.

The specialist noted that the damage of carbonated beverages is manifested through coordinated abuse, creating additional stress on the development of fatty liver disease or chemical supplements.
