"In addition, they affect the esophagus and stomach, causing diseases such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer, which, in turn, can lead to serious consequences, including cancer," Volgina warned.
He emphasized that regular consumption of sugary drinks can disrupt lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. According to the doctor, this leads to diseases of the pancreas, liver and heart, as well as obesity and diabetes. The expert said that a person can consume more sugar in liquid form than in any other food.
The best solution is to avoid carbonated drinks, especially sugary drinks. You can replace them with plain water or tea. "In addition, when drinking carbonated mineral water, for example, it is recommended to open the bottle beforehand. This makes it safer to use," Volgina concluded.
