According to the results of the local elections in Brussels, 2 Armenians will become members of the Council of Elders

Two of the nearly four dozen Armenian candidates nominated for local government elections held in Brussels on October 13 were elected members of their community's council of elders: Anna Hovsepyan in Zhet, Toni Taron Okmen in Zaventem. Anna Hovsepyan, speaking to the correspondent of "Armenpress" in Brussels, stated that this victory is very meaningful for her, it marks the beginning of her first political mandate, a goal she always wanted to achieve.

"This victory shows the trust that the people of Jhet showed in me and in my projects, which is a huge source of motivation. I am deeply grateful for their support. This is a unique opportunity to make concrete changes in the municipality and respond to citizens' concerns. This victory encourages me to strengthen my commitment to the values that I defend and to fully invest my potential in this new role," said Anna Hovsepyan.

Before entering politics, Anna Hovsepyan was a supporter of the "Reformist Movement" party. the party fully corresponds to his beliefs and vision of a better future for Brussels.

"The "Reformist Movement" defends values that are close to my heart. they are individual freedom, equal opportunities and sustainable development. I strongly believe in the need to promote innovative policies that respond to the current challenges of our society, be it mobility, education and other areas, or the fight against inequality.

My commitment within this party allows me to offer concrete solutions and involve citizens in developing their city," added Anna Hovsepyan.

The number of votes received by Hovsepyan is the third best result, after the results recorded by Minister of Finance and Budget of the Brussels Region Sven Gats and Councilor Jennifer Ghesquière. This result allows Anna Hovsepyan to occupy the mandate of a person responsible for any field in the Council of Elders, which she will assume on December 1.
