The National Library of Armenia has acquired 2 rare publications: Ephraim Asor's "Book of Prayer" and the Turkish Bible in Armenian

The National Library of Armenia acquired two rare publications. As we learn from the message distributed by the Library, one of those books bought by the library is Eprem Asor's "Book of Prayer". St. Ephraim the Assyrian lived in 4th century Syria. He is one of the Twelve Cosmic Saints who lived up to and including the 5th century. He was born in the city of Mtsbin, in 306, to Christian parents.

A significant part of Yefrem Asor's works have been preserved in Armenian translations. Asor's book "Book of Prayer" was published in K. Pols, Martiros Sargsyan's printing house, in 1734. It has 95 decorated pages. In the memorial of the book, the publisher asks to remember his parents and brothers.

At the very end, he asks to remember himself. "... zanpitan printogs zMartiros my little scribe." The National Library copy is missing the title page and page 2 of the book. Until now, the library had a digital copy of the same book, which is available in the "Hay Book" database and was digitized from the Matenadaran copy. The second acquisition was in 1888 by K. Polsi A. Y. It is a Turkish Bible in Armenian script published by Poyajian printing house.
