The US has imposed new sanctions against Russian arms dealers: Rafael Ghazaryan, Ashot Mkrtichev, Alexei Budnev

The US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on two Russian citizens and three Russian entities for facilitating arms sales from North Korea to Russia, Voice of America reports.

"This action furthers the U.S. government's goals of interdicting and detecting arms transfers from the DPRK to Russia and is based on sanctions imposed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. Department of State regarding DRC-Russia arms transfers, including the transfer and testing of arms manufactured in the DRC, in particular, ballistic missiles for use by Russia against Ukraine," the US Treasury Department said in an official statement.

Russia and North Korea have indeed stepped up their military cooperation over the past year, with the DPRK supplying Russia with ballistic missiles and ammunition in exchange for military technology.
