"Pyunik" and Yeghishe Melikyan extended the existing contract

We are pleased to announce that "Pyunik" football club and head coach Yeghishe Melikyan have extended the current contract until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Melikyan has been leading the Yerevan team since January 2021. During this time, the 45-year-old specialist has led the club in two championships, played in the group stage of the European Cup tournament and celebrated the first victory of Armenian club football in the above-mentioned stage of the Conference League another exceptional performance, reaching the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League.

"First of all, I would like to thank Artur Soghomonyan, with whom we started this journey and achieved great success.

After meetings and discussions with the new management of the club, I realized that our goals coincide and thanks to joint work we can achieve new successes.

I am sure that by working together with our fans and the whole club, we will continue to be strong and reach new heights," Melikyan stressed.

The experienced specialist was twice recognized as the best coach of the year in Armenia (2022, 2024) and as many times as the best coach of the Premier League season (2021/22, 2023/24).

Yeghishe Melikyan achieved another impressive figure in "Pyunik". On October 28, 2024, after the match against "Van", Melikyan celebrated his 100th victory at the helm of "Pyunik".
