2700 French books for RA schools and libraries

RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Daniel Danielyan met the delegation led by French writer Sylvain Tesson.

The delegation included the president of the French "Humanitarian Challenges" association, Alain Bounet, the president of the Association of French Publishers (SNE), Vincent Montand, the director of SNE, Renaud Lefebvre, and photojournalist Antoine Agujian.

Xavier Richard, adviser on culture and cooperation issues of the French Embassy in Armenia, was also present at the meeting.

Under the sponsorship of Sylvain Tesson and Vincent Montand, 2,700 pieces of modern French-language books will be provided to RA libraries (76 institutions).

The deputy minister of KGSMS, Daniel Danielyan, welcomed the guests and thanked them for the initiative.

"Today, we are in the phase of active reforms in the fields of education and culture, and in this context we attach great importance to the study and localization of international experience for the benefit of the development of our state. We also emphasize the opportunities to develop Francophonie in Armenia with various programs, and your initiative comes to complement this policy." said Daniel Danielyan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the perspectives of cooperation in the field of culture and literature, emphasized the exchange of experience, the discovery and development of creative potential.

The French partners also presented the Paris International Book Festival, emphasizing the possibility of Armenia's participation from the point of view of the development of cooperation.

In his turn, Daniel Danielyan presented the Yerevan International Book Festival of the Ministry of Culture, Achievements, as well as the development prospects of the program. In this context, the deputy minister emphasized the experience of France in the field of culture management, expressing confidence that the cooperation will contribute to the improvement of the effectiveness of various events and programs.

During the visit, the guests also met with Armenian publishers and students of French.
