Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan called not to look for a reason for a scandal in the departure of Russian border guards from the border area with Iran. He announced this at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on January 21 in Moscow.
The RA Foreign Minister reminded that at the request of the Republic of Armenia, the Russian border guards were temporarily involved in the process of ensuring the security of the Armenian-Iranian border from the first day of Armenia's independence.
"After some time, we thanked the Russian side and the relevant services for such a long service at the border and informed that this part of the border can be protected by our own forces from now on.
"There is no occasion for a political scandal here either," said Ararat Mirzoyan.
