"I think that my visit is quite appropriate in the light of the dynamics of the development of our bilateral relations," Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during the talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow. He reminded that the last meeting in this format was held in July 2023. .
"I think that this visit is a good opportunity to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as to carry out a thorough exchange of ideas on a number of urgent issues of the regional and international agenda," Mirzoyan noted.
"I would like to express the interest of the Republic of Armenia to continue the effective political dialogue aimed at discussing issues affecting our bilateral relations and, in general, the regional situation.
Armenia has always been committed to the principle of open and constructive dialogue, and we hope that in the future the Russian side will continue to take into account all aspects of what is happening, avoiding one-sided interpretations, which, unfortunately, we saw recently.
I hope that our meeting today will contribute to mutual understanding," said the Armenian Foreign Minister. "Another important indicator in bilateral relations is, of course, cooperation on international platforms.
We always try to treat the interests of the Russian Federation with understanding, there is a desire and understanding that the Russian side takes into account the interests of the Republic of Armenia to some extent on international platforms.
Cooperation on international platforms is part of our tradition, and we aim to continue that tradition," Mirzoyan noted.
