EAEU is an economically beneficial structure for Armenia and we have no tendency to leave EAEU and we want to continue it, said NA Speaker Alen Simonyan in a conversation with journalists. Giving to Armenia, the Speaker of the National Assembly said.
"The fact that Armenia is a democratic country today is one of the highest security cushions. The fact that the EU civilian observation mission is located on the border of Armenia obviously plays a big role in the security of our borders."
Simonyan expressed his opinion that "it is one thing to attack a CSTO member country and another thing to attack a country that applied for EU membership, shares the values of EU democracy and has a high level of democracy".
"Nothing is certain, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't take all possible steps.
It is definitely possible to attack every country and there are many examples of this, but what we are doing is to say, let's not do it, because it happened that they were attacked.
Let's not even have an army, by and large we can't fight against two mega countries like Turkey and Azerbaijan, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have an army," he said.
