The Turkish army has destroyed 29 militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK, which is recognized as a terrorist organization by Ankara) in the north of Syria. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic.

"29 identified PKK-SNS terrorists who were preparing acts of violence were destroyed in the north of Syria," the report says.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK has been ongoing since 1984.

Turkish authorities consider the PKK a threat to national security and regularly carry out attacks against its supporters in the country and operations in northern Syria and Iraq.
