The new leadership of Syria has given its consent

The new Syrian administration has agreed to the deployment of UN peacekeeping forces in the Golan Heights buffer zone on the border with Israel. This is reported by "RIA Novosti", referring to the statement of the head of the new Syrian administration, Ahmad Hussein al-Sharaa.

"We are ready to accept the UN forces in the buffer zone so that the situation returns to the state that existed before the Israeli advance," Ahmad Hussein al-Sharaa said during a meeting with the Qatari delegation in Damascus.

He noted that Israel no longer has arguments justifying the deepening of the buffer zone.

"Israel moved forward to the buffer zone, citing the presence of Iranian formations. However, with the liberation of Damascus, that reasoning no longer works," he emphasized.

The head of the new Syrian authorities also noted the important role of Qatar in this process, stressing that Qatar has resolutely opposed the Israeli advance and will play an active role in the future.
