Statement of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church:
"Freedom is the captivity of our brothers
We are following with concern the unfair and fabricated court proceedings against the Armenian hostages held illegally in Azerbaijan. Another indicator of this behavior, which is clearly directed by the Baku political leadership and contradicts the internationally accepted norms about prisoners, is the trial to be held on January 17th, which is exclusively for political purposes. :
The currently visible ineffectiveness of the efforts made at the state level and the determination of the Azerbaijani side force us to be more determined and united to protect the fair trial of the children of our people.
Regardless of our political views, subjective attitudes and beliefs, we must realize that today the military-political leadership of the Republic of Artsakh and all the hostages in general are mainly accused of having acted in the interests of the independence of Artsakh and Armenianness, and this fictitious and false trial is primarily insulting. is our national dignity.
Therefore, dear ones, we invite all of you to pray and ask that the almighty God will open the doors of his justice and mercy for our nation, strengthen our countrymen in captivity to overcome these difficult trials and persecutions.
