During the daylight hours of January 16, the layer of cold air that had been stagnant for 8 days in Shirak, Aragatsotn, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor foothills and in the Ararat valley broke up.

This was reported by the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center.

As a result, the air temperature in the mentioned zones increased by 5-7 degrees and a significant thinning of cloud cover was observed.

According to forecasts, stagnation of cold air is not predicted in the coming days.
