The black boxes of the AZAL plane were returned to Kazakhstan from Brazil and handed over to the commission to issue a conclusion on the plane crash, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic told RIA Novosti.

The Brazilian-made Embraer 190 of Azerbaijan Airlines, which was flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed on the morning of December 25, 2024 near the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan.
According to the airline, there were 62 passengers and five crew members on the plane.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, 29 people survived. According to the data of the Russian Embassy, ​​nine of them are Russians. In total, according to the lists, there were 16 Russian citizens on the plane.

"In accordance with the International Civil Aviation Commission of Chicago of December 7, 1944 and other international standards, the autographs of the flight were received by the Brazilian side and forwarded to the commission for its conclusion," the attorney general's office reported.
