The operation to arrest the President of the Republic of Korea Yun Seok Yeol lasted more than seven hours. This is reported by Yonhap agency.

The second arrest attempt began at 3:20 a.m. local time on Wednesday (9:20 p.m. Moscow time on Tuesday).On the way to the residence, investigators had to overcome several rows of barricades, including cars.

Stairs were used in the process.The negotiations between the law enforcement agencies and the presidential guard lasted about two hours.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau for the Investigation of High-ranking Officials said that at 10:33 a.m. local time, "the arrest warrant for President Yoon Seok-yeol was executed."

At the same time, Yoon Seok Yeol stated that he decided to take part in order to prevent bloodshed, however, he continues to consider the investigation illegal.
Law enforcement agencies have 48 hours to interview the president, after which they must apply for another warrant to extend his detention.
