Greenland intends to become a sovereign state, this issue is not negotiable. Kuno Fenker, a member of the Parliament of Greenland, informed The Globe and Mail about this.
"Our desire to become a sovereign state is indisputable, and we are ready to enter into an agreement or free association with Denmark or the United States," he said.
First, the island must separate its economy from Denmark by developing mineral deposits and reducing the role of fishing. The deputy believes that the best investor for these purposes is the USA.
According to the politician, the island should have the right to negotiate directly. Denmark should not act as a mediator in foreign policy issues.
