Newly elected US President Donald Trump wants to end the war in Ukraine "as soon as possible", but he is not going to make concessions to Russian President Vladimir Putin in the conflict settlement process, Keith Kellogg, the future US leader's special envoy for Ukraine, said, writes MT.
"I think people should know that he is not trying to give anything to Putin or the Russians. He's trying to save Ukraine and preserve its sovereignty, and he's going to make sure it's done fairly and equitably," Kellogg said in an interview with Fox News.
He said that outgoing President Joe Biden's "biggest mistake" was not negotiating with Putin for more than two years. The Trump administration "plans to create conditions for the president" so that he can talk to both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Russian leader, Kellogg said.
