Meta is ending its fact-checking program and removing restrictions on speech to restore free expression on Facebook, Instagram and other Meta platforms.
"We're going to go back to our roots and focus on reducing errors, simplifying our policies and restoring free speech on our platforms," Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a video released this morning.
"More specifically, we're going to get rid of fact-checking programs and replace them with X-like community records, starting in the US," Zuckerberg said.
