On January 8, the heads of the governments of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will hold a meeting at the junction of the borders of the three states on the issue of the line of common sections of the border. This was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
"Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Adilbek Kasimaliev will meet with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdullah Aripov and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda on January 8 of this year. The tripartite meeting will take place at the intersection of the state borders of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan," the message says.
During the meeting, the press service notes, "negotiations will be held between the presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on the previously reached agreements on the issues of state borders."
Kyrgyzstan borders China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. All disputed border issues with China and Kazakhstan were resolved several years ago. It was possible to conclude relevant agreements with the Uzbek and Tajik parties only in 2023 and 2024.
