Poland is ready to increase the supply of electricity to Ukraine, if the Kyiv authorities make such a request to Warsaw. Polish Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska said this on TVP Info.
"Poland will be able to increase the sale of electricity to Ukraine, but on the condition that Ukraine itself expresses such a desire," Hennig-Kloska said. "Our operator is ready, the only question is whether Ukraine wants to use it," he added.
Poland trades electricity with Ukraine via the Rzeszow-Khmelnytskyi NPP.
According to Polish expert Marcin Jakubik, in 2024, Hungary became the largest EU exporter of electricity to Ukraine. Budapest accounts for 35-45% of the total volume of electricity supplied there by the European countries.Poland's share varies from 15% to 25%, approximately the same volumes were supplied to Kyiv and Slovakia.
