On January 6, North Korea launched its newest hypersonic ballistic missile. This was reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). It is emphasized that the launch was personally watched by Kim Jong Un, as well as the country's military leadership.
Commenting on the successful launch, the leader of the DPRK said that the purpose of creating a new hypersonic missile is self-defense, not offensive ideas. At the same time, he emphasized that the DPRK's new hypersonic missile "can effectively penetrate any missile defense system in the world."
The new hypersonic missile, according to Kim Jong Un, is designed to reliably deter any adversary in the Asia-Pacific region that poses a threat to the DPRK's security. :
