The airport of the capital of Syria will start receiving international flights from January 7. Ashhad al-Slaybi, head of the Civil Aviation and Air Transport Department of Syria, said this in a comment to SANA.
"We announce the start of receiving and sending international flights to and from Damascus airport from January 7, 2025," he said.
Al-Slaybi assured that the new Syrian authorities "with the help of partners" are currently engaged in comprehensive preparations for the full operation of the air ports of Damascus and Aleppo.
On January 2, the Qatar Airways national airline announced its intention to resume flights on the Doha-Damascus route from January 7.
