Clashes took place in Syrian villages between local residents and Israeli soldiers. The Wall Street Journal

Residents of Syrian villages near the border with Israel have protested against the invasion of the military of the Jewish state. The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) writes about this. According to the authors, Israeli troops entered Syria after the change of power in the country, but some villages refused to surrender and said that the power should be transferred only to the new Syrian government.

Protests in the village of Maaria led to clashes. The heads of eight villages in the province of Quneitra signed a statement demanding the withdrawal of the Israeli military.

Local residents were unhappy with restrictions on movement and access to basic resources such as food, water and electricity.
