The Moldovan parliament approved the republic's 2025 budget with a deficit

The Parliament of Moldova approved the 2025 state budget of the republic with a deficit of almost 760 million dollars in the final reading, the speaker of the legislative assembly, Igor Grossu, announced.

"The draft state budget for 2025 was approved in the third reading by the votes of 57 deputies," Grossu said at the meeting.

According to the document, the planned revenues will amount to 3.9 billion dollars, expenses - 4.6 billion dollars. This means that the budget deficit is predicted to be about 760 million dollars.

Moldova is experiencing an economic crisis from 2021, which is aggravated by the increase in inflation and energy prices, as well as the reorientation of sales markets due to the unavailability of traditional supply routes to CIS countries.
In 2022, inflation reached a record 30.2 percent, and the price of gas increased almost seven times, and for electricity - almost four times. Inflation in 2023 was 13.4%.
