Armenia is still an important member of CIS and EAEU. Peskov

Armenia continues to be an important member of the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President. His words were quoted by RIA Novosti.

"Armenia has stopped participating in the CSTO format, but, nevertheless, Armenia is still a very important member of both EAEU and CIS. Both Armenia and the Armenian people receive great dividends from this participation," said Peskov.

According to him, Armenia's work in the CIS is mutually beneficial. "Both the CIS and our Armenian friends are interested in it."

The meeting of the leaders of the CIS countries traditionally takes place every year at the end of December in St. Petersburg. This time, the unofficial summit will take place in the complex of the Igor ski resort of the Leningrad region, near St. Petersburg.
