The United States will provide Kiev with a $20 billion loan

The US Department of Finance has announced a decision to provide a $20 billion loan to Ukraine, which will be repaid with the proceeds from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation.

"The US Department of the Treasury today announced the allocation of $20 billion to Ukraine as part of the G7 initiative for $50 billion in loans. This amount will be returned with the income received from frozen Russian assets," the ministry said in a statement.

In June, the participants of the G7 summit in Italy reached a political agreement to use the proceeds from frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine, to provide Kiev with a $50 billion loan by the end of this year.
