What did Putin discuss with Witkoff and Kushner? The Kremlin revealed the key topics of the negotiations

Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the need to eliminate all the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine during a meeting with US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. This was stated by the Russian leader's aide Yuri Ushakov after more than three hours of talks in the Kremlin, Interfax reports.

According to him, the Russian side presented the American representatives with its assessments of the situation on the front line, noting the progress of Russian troops and expressing confidence in achieving the set goals. Ushakov also reported that Witkoff and Kushner presented a number of considerations on possible ways to resolve the situation.

Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, in turn, stated that the fact of the meeting between Putin and the American negotiators testifies to the existence and strengthening of an atmosphere of trust within this channel of communication. According to him, the expanded public part of the meeting appears in cases where the Russian leader considers it necessary to convey certain signals to the American side, Kommersant reports.

After the talks in Moscow, Witkoff and Kushner left for Kiev, where they are holding a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
