French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Germany on a state visit. The French President participated in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Basic Law of the GDR in Berlin. On the first day of the visit, Macron said the two countries should further strengthen their partnership at a "decisive" moment for Europe. "Challenges such as Russia's continued aggressive war against Ukraine, global climate change and the development of artificial intelligence require French- a joint German effort," the head of France noted. At the same time, he denied the claims that the relations between the two countries are beginning to deteriorate. "It is not true, we are moving forward," Macron said at a joint press conference with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin. Steinmeier, in turn, said that although Paris and Berlin have different views on some issues, they "ultimately always they come to an agreement." "If there is an agreement between Germany and France, Europe can achieve a lot," the German president emphasized. A meeting between the head of France and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is also planned near Berlin.
