For his visit to China, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio chose a suit similar to the one worn by Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro after his kidnapping. White House Communications Director Steven Chung published Rubio's photo on X.
"The White House communications director just released this photo of Secretary Rubio on Air Force One wearing the same tracksuit that Maduro wore after the kidnapping," NewsNation's Kelly Meyer wrote at X.
The journalist noted that this message appeared a day after the interview of US President Donald Trump, in which he expressed the idea of joining Venezuela to the US as the 51st state.
